How Buehler Is Using Fret Zealot to Prepare for a Cover Band Audition

It's been a little over a month into my journey with Fret Zealot, and so far my experience has been a little different than what I expected, but in a good way!

Over the past few weeks I've been using the Fret Zealot system, and interactive app to unleash a shred-tastic combo of chords, scales, and songs into my practice routine. I've been playing guitar for the better part of 15 years, and am loving all of the different scales that I can run through and learn on the Fret Zealot App.

For example, did you know there's such a thing as an 'A Flat Bartok Scale'?

Neither did I, but this is what it looks like on Fret Zealot:

Each one of those lit-up LEDs corresponds to the notes in the scale, blue is the root, green is the fifth, and yellow is the third, it all gets outlined in the App.

It's pretty easy to spend an entire afternoon picking away and messing around with different scale combinations. A lot of my Fret Zealot work takes place in the 105.7 The Hawk studios on the electric guitar Fret Zealot sent me, and then when I get home I transfer what I practiced over to my electric.

I've felt like I've been in a rut for months with my playing, and what I've learned so far has helped me break free from my own playing norms.

Recently, I've been practicing to audition for a cover band here at the Jersey Shore, and Fret Zealot's played a pretty big part in my practice for that. I've been able to go through the band's setlist, find the songs on Fret Zealot, and practice away.
