Ronnie Montrose died Saturday at age 64 in his California home after years of battling prostate cancer.

Montrose, of course, gave Sammy Hagar some major help in launching his career.  He got his own start on Van Morrison's 1971 Tupelo Honey album.

Ronnie played with many artists during his long career, but most famously with his self-titled band.

R.I.P. Ronnie and thanks for the music!
