When I am at our studios at Townsquare Towers in Downtown Toms River I often look out our windows and see Huddy Park across the street, This park is a nice spot downtown on the river and is host for many various events throughout the year.

If you are not familiar with the history behind Huddy Park, let me take a few moments to give you the cliff notes. Huddy Park is named after Joshua Huddy, who was part of the Monmouth Militia during the Revolutionary War. Huddy was put in charge of a small fort in Toms River known as the Blockhouse. His job to protect local salt works which were badly needed in the war effort. Huddy was attacked by Loyalists, he was captured and the British Loyalists basically destroyed the village of Toms River. Huddy was taken to a prison and later hanged for his alleged war crimes.
