This time around, the Burger Playoffs took me to the Colts Neck Pub off Route 34 in Colts Neck.

And I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but this was the first time I stopped by this place, and it immediately felt like a home-away-from-home.

It's a cozy pub nestled off 34, and the kind of place where you could go in for a quick bite, but end up hanging at the bar for the whole day. The bartenders are friendly, the food is good, and the vibe is perfect.

What I thought was really fun about this place is that if you bring your scorecard to the bar after you wrap up a round of golf at the Colts Neck Golf Course, your first beer is free. That's enough to make me want to pick up golf!

The real star of the show here, though, is the burgers, and I wasn't even sure how to go about fitting this thing into my mouth!

The Burgers At The Colts Neck Pub Are Out Of This World

Brian and his kitchen staff really take pride in the food they make, and when he mentioned that they do a double cheeseburger that'll blow your taste buds out of the water, he wasn't kidding. The burger seemed like it was a mile tall, loaded up with cheese, bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion, and the bun was just perfect.

Plus, it had a sauce on the side that really just took the whole thing to a new level.
