Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced the arrests of 26-year old Taishaun Cosme of Brick and 33-year old Janice Rivera of Lakewood on Tuesday following an investigation in which the OCPO Narcotics Strike Force and Lakewood Police Street Crimes Unit began looking for the source of cocaine distribution in the community.

They were able to identify a residence in the township where the coke deals were being orchestrated and on June 8 detectives and units from the OCPO and Lakewood PD executed a court-authorized search warrant and seized approximately 10 grams of cocaine, a large quantity of materials indicative of illegal drug distribution, a digital scale, and $4700 in cash.

Cosme is now charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute in a Quantity less than One-Half Ounce, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was processed at Lakewood Police Headquarters and released on a summons pending a future court appearance.

She was processed at Lakewood Police Headquarters and also released on a summons pending a future court appearance.

As this dangerous and illegal drug continues to surface, it's important to understand and reeducate on just how harmful it can be to your body, before any dealer would contemplate mixing it would something toxic or lethal.

According to the U.S. DEA, when someone smokes or injects cocaine, they feel "an intense euphoric “rush”," and from there, your body could experience serious health issues.

"Tolerance builds quickly, easy to overdose, Cardiac arrhythmias, Increased blood pressure and heart rate, restlessness, irritability, anxiety, paranoiaInsomnia, loss of appetite, Stroke or death, Sudden cardiac arrest, Convulsion. The crash that follows a high is mental and physical exhaustion, sleep, and depression lasting several days. Following the crash, users crave cocaine again."
