Come Watch Some Of The Shore's Top Players One More Time

The weather today will be more suited for going to the beach, soaking in a pool or simply staying inside with the AC cranked up. However for 80 young men it will be a time to put on the pads and play football in the 43^rd Annual Shore Sports Network All-Shore Gridiron Classic presented by Jersey Mike’s and the U.S. Army. Brick Township’s Keller Memorial Field will host the game with kickoff schedule for 7pm…tickets go on sale at 5pm.

This summer tradition returns for the 43^rd time and the first since 2019 as the last two years the game was cancelled due to the pandemic. The players just graduated high school in June and for many this will be their last game as they are not playing football in college or they have already entered the work-force or even joined the military. Some made tremendous sacrifices to attend five practice sessions leading up to tonight which will see Monmouth County take a 3-game winning streak into action.

As part of the evening the halftime ceremony will see four longtime coaches honored by the Shore Football Coaches Foundation and their Hall of Fame program. Jim Simonelli has spent 51 seasons on the sidelines as an assistant coach, much of that at Long Branch and currently at Ocean. Bob Grace has been both a head coach and assistant and returns to Point Beach this fall for what will be his 53^rd season of coaching.

Also saluted by will Rich Mosca & Jack Bush who combined have spent more than 100 years involved in football in various capacities, an amazing record of longevity.

It will certainly be a warm evening but it will also be great to see this long-running game which dates back to 1978 return. Shore Conference football is special and the Ocean-Monmouth game is a big part of that.
