Police in Brick are investigating a reported attack of a 16-year old boy in a wooded area between Jackson Avenue and the PAL building on Drum Point Road Wednesday afternoon around 2:45 pm.

The teen told police that he was riding his bike on a trail when he came across a light-skinned black male about 6-feet tall with a muscular build and a “scruffy unshaven beard."

As the juvenile rode closer to the man, who was walking in the same direction that he was riding his bike in, the juvenile said, “Excuse me.”

The teen told police that at that time the black male knocked him off his bicycle and beat him up.

During the scuffle, the juvenile sustained superficial cuts on his left arm from what he described as an “unknown weapon.”

Police had EMTs respond to treat the juvenile, but the juvenile refused treatment.

Several Patrolmen and Detectives searched the area for the suspect and evidence of the altercation.

As of the time of this release no suspects have been located.

Officers are still working this case and the investigation is ongoing.

Patrols will be increased in the area, including a presence at the bus stops for school.
