A Jersey Shore Local Has Been Called Up To The WNBA
Now, a Jersey Shore native is getting ready to represent our state in the WNBA, and it's so exciting to see local athletes get to follow their dreams and play in front of thousands of fans.
Earlier this week, the WNBA held its 2026 draft at The Shed in Hudson Yards, and of the names called, one of them was a Jersey Girl.

In the second round of the WNBA draft for 2026, the Indiana Fever selected Justine Pissott, of Toms River, New Jersey.
Who Is Justine Pissott?
She was the second round pick for the WNBA this year, and the 25th overall pick.
Justine is a Toms River, NJ native. She played high school basketball for Red Bank Catholic before going on to play college ball with Tennessee, and then later transferring to Vanderbilt.
It's so exciting to see a local Jersey athlete make the big times; in fact, Jersey is home to several well-known athletes.
