A Brick Township man charged with first degree Attempted Murder has been sentenced to 15-years in state prison for stabbing a woman over six-times in the torso around 10 pm on March 29, 2015, according to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office.

Christopher Dalzell, 61, of Brick Township stabbed the 50-year old woman at her Cedar Bridge Avenue home that Sunday and then hid in the bedroom.

Both of them knew each other before the alleged stabbing where she suffered wounds to the chest and abdomen.

She was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in critical condition and needed medical attention to be treated for over six stab wounds.

Dalzell was found in the bedroom covered in blood and promptly arrested before being charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon.

His bail at the time was set at $250,000 with no 10% and no contact with the victim.

Brick Township Police Detective Tim McCarthy and OCPO Major Crimes Detective John Murphy were the lead investigators in this case. The scene was processed by Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Detective John Anderson.
