Everything You Need To Know About This Weeks Blood Drive in Brick, NJ
Are you an active blood donor?

According the the American Red Cross, someone is in need of a blood transfer every two seconds in the United States.
It's very easy to give blood anymore, and your donation goes further than you can imagine!
Last week, while at Brick Summerfest, I just happened to run into the team at Weichert Realtors who were looking to get people signed up for an in memoriam blood drive.
At first I thought it was strange to hold a blood drive in memory of someone, but as the Weichert Team explained more, it began to make sense.
The blood drive is being held in memory of a Weichert Realtor who passed away in 2014, Joe Ettore, who's life was extended several years thanks to blood donations.
That seems like a great way to make sure the memory of someone lives on.
If you're interested in donating blood, it's so easy to get registered.
To donate, you can sign up real quick from your phone by clicking here, or you can call the American Red Cross at 800-933-1475, and use the sign up code 70642.
The in memoriam blood drive takes place this week, July 7th at the Laurelton Fire Department, 1725 Rte. 88 in Brick New Jersey.
A few things to know before donating blood
Be sure to eat and drink plenty of fluids prior donating (trust me, I didn't do this one time and passed out halfway through my donation!)
If you have any questions about your eligibility be sure to call the Red Cross at 1-800-933-BLOOD. I was excluded from several donations due to getting a tattoo within a certain time of my donation, so be sure to talk to the Red Cross and make sure you're all set to go!
When you arrive for your appointment make sure that you have your photo ID with you
And if you want to try and save some time, head over the the American Red Cross website and start your rapid pass. Trust me, this will save you some time when you go to your appointment.
