Asbury Park Introduces Pay-By-Plate Parking
If you're visiting Asbury Park, you'll notice a big change to their paid parking system. For a long time, spot numbers were painted on the street, and you'd have to walk to the nearest meter, enter the spot number, and pay for a certain amount of time.
Now, you can pay with your license plate rather than by spot number.
You will now enter your license plate number in the parking meter, or you can save your license plate information in the city’s mobile parking app, or at MyParkingReceipts.com.
The new system will allow you move your car without having to pay for a new spot (as long as you stay within the same pay zone (Downtown, Waterfront All Other Areas)).
You can read the official statement from the town here.
