A story has been making its rounds on Facebook that says all ShopRite stores in the state will be closing in November. Is it true?

Nope.

The story, which was posted on trend-news.com a couple weeks ago and shared thousands of times, is completely false.

In fact, the story on that site contains absolutely no information except for one sentence: "As of 11/01/2017 all shoprites in New Jersey will be closing their doors due to sudden bankruptcy."

If it was a real news story, experts would have been quoted, employees would have been interviewed for their reactions, and video of stunned shoppers would have been plastered on every TV newscast.

According to Wikipedia, ShopRite has been the largest retailer of food in New Jersey for close to 20 years. They're also number one in the entire New York metropolitan area and the largest retailer of food in Greater Philadelphia.

And if you really need proof that your favorite ShopRite will continue to sell all of your favorite goodies, you can read the disclaimer at the bottom of trend-news.com that says, "This website is an entertainment website, news are created by users. These are humourous news, fantasy, fictional, that should not be seriously taken or as a source of information."
