As we get set to enter October it is time to get ready for an annual fall tradition that is a great day trip and it's right here in the Garden State. If you have never been on the "Great Pumpkin Train" then I suggest you put it on your "to do" list this autumn. It's a great way to celebrate fall, Halloween, and olf trains!

I love trains and I enjoy taking a good train ride and this is just the thing this fall. Now it's not a long train ride, but you get the experience and Halloween fun during this day trip. There are pumpkins, gold mining, corn mazes, and more.

The Great Pumpkin Train ride is a fun family activity in autumn.  April & I took a ride to Warren County for the train which is based in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Phillipsburg is about a 2-hour ride from Ocean County. Phillipsburg itself reminds me of “old” New Jersey, with a 1950’s feel to the architecture, bridges, and downtown area. Phillipsburg is located right on the Delaware River, so if you make a wrong turn you end up in Pennsylvania lol

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
