Finally - we know more about some exciting plans for the former Coca-Cola bottling plant site in Neptune.

It seems like we've been waiting an eternity for some new plans for the former Coca-Cola building in Neptune.  It was empty for a while and finally demolished in 2020.  Someone in the What's Going There in Monmouth and Ocean Counties Facebook Group asked for an update on the plans for this site, and the information is exciting.

What's coming to the former Coca-Cola bottling plant in Neptune?

So far, according to the Facebook group, the Neptune Planning Board approved an Aldi and a gas station/convenience store.  Even though there are a number of Aldi locations in NJ, people (myself included) go nuts when a new one is announced.  And who can blame them; they've got good food at great prices.

Are any other stores confirmed for this area of the Asbury Circle?

Someone further down on the Facebook thread shared the leasing plans for the area, and Smoothie King was listed.  There's still no word on what kind of gas/convenience store is proposed for the site.

Traffic worries for the Asbury Circle

As you know, the Asbury Circle has a reputation for being dangerous.  So naturally, people were concerned about what these new plans will mean for the traffic flow of the area.  Some commenters were quick to point out that this could be disastrous.  Others defended the circle saying it works when used properly.  Some hoped that the road would be rebuilt altogether.

What are your thoughts on these supposed plans for the old Coca-Cola bottling plant?
