6 Motorcycle Dealerships around Ocean County, NJ to Check Out
Have you ever had the urge to buy a motorcycle and enjoy the freedom of the open road?
About seven years ago I had this exact urge.
I was working a job I hated back then and felt like I was in a rut and that a motorcycle would solve all my problems.
So what did I do?
I took a three-day class at a local community college to get my motorcycle license, as well as take a safety class.
From there I went to the local Harley dealer and fell in love with a Harley Street 500.
It's a beautiful bike and is great for beginners.
I was sitting with the sales rep, filling out paperwork with a check in hand as a down payment on my new hog.
That's when I had a brain fart.
The credit application needed my social security number, and for whatever reason, I was drawing a blank.
Not sure of what to do, I called back home and asked my mom if she could read off my social security number from the card we keep in the fireproof box.
Now, she was curious why her kid all of a sudden needed his social security number and I told her I was buying a motorcycle.
She was not happy to hear that.
Needless to say, I went home on four wheels that afternoon instead of two.
Fun anecdote aside, I've still always wanted to buy a motorcycle.
Where in Ocean County would you go to get a solid bike?
I saw on the Ocean County Scanner News website that Ocean County Harley in Lakewood has closed its doors due to a merger.
There are still plenty of places you can go if you're looking to find that real freedom on the road.
If there's a place you like that I missed, be sure to email me so I can add it at douglas.buehler@townsquaremedia.com.
