30 NJ Towns Will Ban Marijuana Sales
The list of towns banning marijuana sales is growing faster than the list of towns who will allow it.
Officials in Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Jersey City, and Trenton have said they would welcome the business (and tax revenue). Seaside Heights and Toms River have both said they were considering allowing it, but waiting for more information to come in.
Here is the list of towns who have said they would ban all marijuana sales (in alphabetical order):
Barnegat, Ocean County
Berkeley, Ocean County
Bridgewater, Somerset County
Brigantine, Atlantic County
Carlstadt, Bergen County
Chatham Township, Morris County
Cranbury, Middlesex County
East Rutherford, Bergen County
Garfield, Bergen County
Hasbrouck Heights, Bergen County
Hawthorne, Passaic County
Hazlet, Monmouth County
Lodi, Bergen County
Mahwah, Bergen County
Manville, Somerset County
North Caldwell, Essex County
Oceanport, Monmouth County
Old Bridge, Middlesex County
Parsippany-Troy Hills, Morris County**

Surf City, Ocean County
Union City, Hudson County

**Parsippany and Spotswood both have resolutions that don't ban marijuana businesses, but strongly opposes marijuana legalization.
I'm still amazed that so many towns are putting their foot down and not allowing marijuana sales. Normally towns are looking for every single tax they can get, but they're going to turn down this?
