I love baseball. I know I'm in a shrinking minority, as the younger generations are straying further from the National Pastime and jumping to the NFL or NBA, but I still love everything about baseball.

While pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training early, the games for all three of our local teams start on February 22nd.

If you're planning on making the trip to Tampa or Clearwater or Port St Lucie to see the Yanks or Phils or Mets, here's the dates you'll need to circle on your calendar:

Pitchers and catchers report for the Mets on February 10th, and on February 11th for the Yankees and Phillies. All three teams hold their first workout on February 12th. Position players arrive for the Mets on the 14th, and for the Yanks and Phils on the 16th. The Mets hold their first full-team workout on the 16th, Yanks and Phils on the 17th. Once all the players are there and the workouts have begun, it's game time!

The Yankees start by hosting the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:05 on Saturday, February 22nd.

The Phillies head to Lakeland to take on the Detroit Tigers at 1:05 on Saturday, February 22nd.

The Mets actually start with a split-squad day, with half the team heading to Jupiter to face the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:05, and the other half staying home to face the Miami Marlins at 1:10 on February 22nd.
