A 19-year-old woman was hit in the face by a flying object while riding the El Toro roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure.

Sabreen Nassar, of Lake Hopatcong, said she "was hit with something that felt like a bat to the face."

She suffered injuries to her mouth, including a swollen lip, cracked molars, and a front tooth knocked completely out, as well as some cuts and scratches and bruises.

Park spokeswoman Kristin B. Siebeneicher said the woman was treated by the park's medical staff before being transported to a local hospital.

"The ride was immediately closed for a full inspection. State ride inspectors gave us permission to reopen the ride Friday night, but we kept it closed to complete another inspection in daylight," she said.
