When Do You Get Your Christmas Tree?

It's a yearly battle between my wife and I - when do we put up the tree?

I think if it were up to my wife, the tree would go up the day after Halloween. I know I sound like a "get off my lawn" old man, but I like to have some separation between my holidays. October 1st, put up Halloween skulls and spiderwebs and whatever. Once Halloween is over, you can keep pumpkins out just for the autumn/Thanksgiving vibe, but I don't believe in bringing out the Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving.

What are things like in your house? How early is "too early" to start decorating for Christmas (or Hanukkah)?

For full disclosure, I'm pretty sure we're going out this Saturday to get our tree.
