In my 40-plus year career I have been lucky to be associated with some of our sponsors and advertisers in a variety of ways.  If and when you hear me talk about them or endorse them there is a reason…because I believe they are terrific partners who I have personally have done business with.  Certainly at the top of the list for me would be Jersey Mike’s and Causeway Lincoln and once again they have made tremendous impacts locally and across the country.

JERSEY MIKE’S recent “Month of Giving” raised a whopping $20 million for the Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Florida.  All month long at their more than 2,000 locations across the country customers donated to the cause and it culminated on March 30th when the sub giant donated ALL sales from every franchise through their annual “Day of Giving.”  This year’s total was by far a record and will help athletes competing in the Special Olympics from June 5-12 with their travel and more.  Of course we know that Jersey Mike’s started right here in Ocean County when then 17-year old Peter Cancro bought what was then Mike’s Subs in Point Pleasant.  I have worked with them for years and they not only make great subs but do so much for others.

CAUSEWAY LINCOLN is part of the Causeway Family of Dealerships who are very visible on Route 72 in Manahawkin.  I have been a spokesman for them for years because of a long relationship with founder Dave Wintrode who started it all more than 50 years ago.  The list of charitable causes they have supported over the years if a mile long and recently they created CAUSEWAY CAREes as part of the Wintrode Family Foundation.  They serve various nonprofit, local and community-based organizations in Ocean County through financial donations, scholarship opportunities, vehicle giveaways, event sponsorships and more including active participation and volunteerism.  For more visit www.causewaycares.com.

I am proud to work with both these businesses and hope to do so for many years to come.

LOOK: See America's 50 Best Beach Towns

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
