Townsquare Media and the Jay & Linda Grunin Foundation are teaming up to salute our local heroes with our Warrior of the Week program.

Congratulations to Scott Speaker, our Warrior of the Week for the week of July 8th, 2019.

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman Scott Speaker graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Speaker earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Mark and Donna Speaker of Lavallette, and husband of Katherine Speaker of Galloway.

The airman is a 2002 graduate of Toms River High School East. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2007 from Cook College At Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
