For the last few weeks, we've been highlighting how Toms River native Frankie Edgar has been keeping it local in preparation for one of the biggest mixed martial arts events in recent memory, UFC 205.  With the card just days away, we finish our series by focusing on Edgar's thoughts preceding this historic event.

Last week, we told you how Frankie Edgar was getting ready for his upcoming fight on one of the biggest stages in the world: Madison Square Garden.  For Edgar, fight camp isn't the only thing he does close to home.  As we found out in our 2nd installment of our 3-part series, the Toms River East graduate is proud of his hometown, and is more than happy to give back.

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar is just weeks away from fighting on perhaps the biggest mixed martial arts card to date and the first of its kind at historic Madison Square Garden: UFC 205.  Luckily for Edgar, the Toms River native isn't traveling far to compete, or to train.

The 2016-2017 Hockey Season begins tonight for the New York Rangers as they celebrate their 90th season in the NHL. They face the New York Islanders at Madison Square Garden!

MMA is coming to New York! FINALLY!!!! New York was the last state to ban Professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). But on Tuesday that all changed. New York lawmakers voted 113-25 in favor of lifting the ban that had been in effect since the 90's.

The Springsteen concert that was supposed to happen on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, but was postponed due to the blizzard, has been rescheduled for Monday March 28th Tickets for the original show will be honored in March    

Bruce Springsteen had to cancel his show at Madison Square Garden Sunday night because of Winter Storm Jonas.  And he's hoping to make it up to his fans.

Tonight is game 3 between the Rangers and Kings. The NY Rangers definitely have their work cut out for them. They are down two games to none versus the Los Angeles Kings in the best of seven series, so basically the Rangers now have to win the next 4 out of 5 games.

Tonight is Game 7 in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Flyers forced a game seven  with a 5-2 win over the Rangers last night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly. The winner will advance to the second round to face the Pittsburgh Penguins.
