Jersey Shore Locals Reveal The 25 Smells That Mean Summer Has Arrived
There are certain smells that you get a whiff of during the summer at the shore that just instantly make you realize it's summer. For example, my favorite smell in the whole world is the bay, specifically at low tide.
Why The Bay At Low Tide Is The Best Smell At The Shore
A lot of people think that's a weird smell to enjoy, but to me, it means summers at the beach.
When I was a kid, my grandparents owned a house on 34th Street in Sea Isle City, just off the bay, and that smell always reminds me of a simpler time in life, and as an adult, it brings me comfort.

There Are A Lot Of Iconic Smells Of Summer At The Jersey Shore
There are a lot of smells that just scream summer, especially living at the Jersey Shore. From all of the smells you get on the boardwalk to the smells you get around town, there's something special about this time of year, and what we smell can really get us into the summer mood.
I put this question up on the radio station's Facebook page, "What smell screams summer at the Shore?" and the responses were seriously overwhelming.
Some of them were classic answers like the smell of chlorine in the pool, or the smell of an ocean breeze smacking them in the face while they hang on the beach. Others were a little strange, but who am I to judge? Things like the smell of the creosote on the boardwalk in the summer heat. It's an intense smell, but I like it too.
