Up in the sky, is it a bird? A plane? A UFO?
In this case, it was none of those three; however, what was seen over the skies of New Jersey last night really did get people's imaginations pumping.

Many people had their eyes turned to the skies last night (8/12) due to the Perseid Meteor Shower, during which we were supposed to see thousands of meteors light up our sky in a beautiful display.

However, some people noticed another light, which was a little bit off from what a meteor would look like.
In the sky, people saw a moving light with swirls surrounding it.

Social Media Buzz: Aliens Or Drones?
Most people immediately said aliens, it has to be aliens.
Other people started thinking it was 2024 again, and those crazy drones were once again stalking our night skies here in the Garden State.
And when you look at a photo of what was seen in the sky over Jersey last night, both of those do seem like legitimate options.
Mystery Solved: Rocket Launch Behind The Strange Lights
Bizarre lights in the sky indeed, and fortunately, there's no need to worry about an alien invasion or more drones infiltrating our night skies.
This was the light coming off the Vulcan Rocket Launch, according to 6 ABC.
The Vulcan Rocket Launch Lights Up The East Coast
The rocket launched from Cape Canaveral just before 9 PM on Tuesday night, and we could witness the rocket making its way to space across the East Coast. It was an incredible sight to see.
The rocket is apparently carrying some experimental navigation satellites on behalf of the US Military.
