On WOBM-AM's Townsquare Tonight, Ocean County Long Term Recovery Group Director Sue Marticek said they connect Sandy victims with a Disaster Case Manager to help them navigate the recovery process. She said the case managers help clients identify available resources and where gaps remain.

"It is then, that the long term recovery group comes together and tries to fill that gap so that there is a complete recovery," Marticek said.

The LTRG's receives grant funding, works with faith-based organizations, government entities, civic groups and local businesses in a coordinated effort to make Sandy victims whole, according to Marticek.

"What happens is, if we don't work collaboratively, everybody gets a little band-aid and they get fixed for a short period of time but they never get over that full hump of recovery and that is what our goal is," she said.

The large number of Sandy victims who are ripped off by people they hire to repair their homes, is another subject of concern for Marticek. She said another problem, is when Sandy victims run out of money when they're they're close to completing their home rebuilding projects.

"Please, if you have not signed with a contractor, before you do please come talk to us. It's free it is confidential and we are here to be your true advocates because we want you to get back into your home," Marticek said.
