Steven Spielberg Will Film ‘West Side Story’ In New Jersey

The legendary Steven Spielberg will bring his talents to the classic "West Side Story", and the film will have a decidedly Jersey flavor.

Spielberg will also be filming scenes in Jersey this summer! Paterson has become a hotspot for filming, with Scorsese's "The Irishman", Jim Jarmusch's "Paterson", and the Sopranos prequel "The Many Saints of Newark" all filming in or around the North Jersey city.

Details haven't been announced yet, but according to NJ.com, a production crew has spent the past few weeks prepping parking lots next to Center City Mall between Market and Smith streets. Dance scenes and musical numbers will also be filmed on Ellison and Washington streets.
