Ship Bottom Police say the driver of a Toyota who was moving erratically and topping speeds of 100-mph died after causing an accident on Long Beach Boulevard.

Officers were advised of an erratic driver around 6:00 am Saturday morning in another jurisdiction and after seeing the car they followed at a safe distance as he continued into Ship Bottom.

The Toyota then became involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and 11th Street. 

Police say the driver of the Toyota, a 60 year old male from Conshohocken, Pennsylvania was traveling at an extreme rate of speed and impacted a Roselle Garbage Truck and a Ford pickup.

Both vehicles impacted were stopped at the red traffic signal at the intersection with the dump truck in the right lane and pickup in the left.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The accident is still under investigation.
