Seaside Heights Mathis Bridge Set To Reopen May 10th

Two Winters down...One more to go!!!

I'm talking about the Winter construction for the last two years that has shut down the Seaside Heights Draw-Bridge (Mathis Bridge) from November to May.

Good news...... According to the Asbury Park Press, the bridge is scheduled to be opened up to traffic once again on Wednesday, May 10th. (No word on what time yet)

This phase of construction consisted of a new deck for the entire span and a newly rebuilt deck which is raised to allow large boats to go under the bridge. New railings, a new control desk for the bridge operator, cameras, and electronics were also part of this construction phase.

November 1st the bridge will be shut down once again for the FINAL phase of construction.
