Rutgers Develops New Quicker, Simpler Coronavirus Test
We've all see the stories about how the drive-thru testing centers in New Jersey shut down after 30 minutes because they run out of tests. We've also heard about how painful the test itself is, with medical staff having to jam a long qtip up your nose to the back of your throat.
A new test developed by a Rutgers University lab could completely change things - it would allow thousands of people to be tested, and only require patients to spit in a test tube.
Judith Persichilli, New Jersey Health Commissioner, said the test "would be a game changer in what we know about Sars CoV 2 and how we go forward controlling the spread of this virus."
