One Change That Could Make Ocean County Safer and Easier to Live In
If there's one thing you could change about living near the Jersey Shore, what would it be? I've had my answer locked down for years, and it's something that I think would help tens of thousands of people in the area.
One Thing You'd Love To Change About Ocean County, NJ
We need to up the public transportation game in Ocean County.
Yes, we have Ocean Ride buses, and sure, you can take an NJ Transit bus from the Toms River Bus Depot up to NYC, but the lack of options can be frustrating.

Ocean County, NJ Needs To See More Trains Become Available For The Public
Specifically, I think we need to see an increase in train options in Ocean County. My wife and I live in Ocean Gate, and at one point in the town's history, there was a train that ran from Ocean Gate to Seaside Park, and from there you could ride the line up to Asbury Park.
Could you imagine how great it would be to be able to take a train over to the island? And it's not just getting to the beach. Let's say you live in Whiting and want to go see a show at the Stone Pony or the House of Independents. Unless you're driving to that show, there's really no way to get there using public transportation that won't take you a couple of hours.
Move Ocean Is Picking Up Momentum In Ocean County, NJ
There's currently a social media channel that I love called Move Ocean, and the whole point of the organization is to bring awareness to the lack of solid public transportation options in Ocean County, and also to bring awareness to how dangerous it can be to drive around Ocean County.
All I'm saying is that if I could take public transportation from Ocean Gate up to Asbury Park to see a show, I think it would be a fantastic change.
