A Point Pleasant woman who had served as the bookkeeper of The Atlantic Club in Wall has been sentenced to three years in prison for embezzling more than $75,000 from the business over the course of five years, Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni announced on Tuesday.

Jennifer Ambrosino, 42, must also pay $100,00 in restitution in addition to the prison sentence.

Prosecutor Gramiccioni said that Ambrosino stole from the business between January of 2012 and June of 2017.

She plead guilty to second degree Theft by Unlawful Taking on April 28, 2020.

Ambrosino was charged following a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Wall Police and the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Office of Criminal Investigation.

The investigation also determined that Ambrosino embezzled $223,000 in total from the health club for her personal use.

She tried hiding her theft by altering bank statements, submitting fraudulent wire transfers, and "submitting erroneous reconciliation documents."

The case was prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Joshua D. Detzky.

Ambrosino is represented by Robert R. Fuggi, Jr. of Toms River.
