Last December, Smallcakes in Manahawkin announced they would be closing their location at the corner of North Main Street and Hilliard Boulevard (right across from Wawa).

I drive up and down Main Street a lot, so I've been keeping my eyes open to see what would take over the location, and yesterday I finally saw it: PLAYA BOWLS!

There are dozens of Playa Bowls locations around Jersey, including year-round stores in Belmar, Brick, Lacey and Toms River, along with seasonal spots in Beach Haven, Island Heights, Lavallette, and Seaside.

I reached out to Playa Bowls to see if there was any info on a potential opening date, so I'll update you with anything I find out!

UPDATE:

Playa Bowls got back to me, here's what they had to say:

Playa Bowls founders, Abby Taylor and Rob Guiliani are excited to announce that their longtime franchise partners, Rob Ciliento and Ryan Daly are opening their 5th Playa Bowls location, a 1000 Sq ft storefront serving up everyone's favorite Acai and Pitaya Bowls. They are thrilled to continue to grow and expand, with this location serving the local Manahawkin community and especially Southern High School and Middle school. Rob and Ryan are NJ natives just like Abby and Rob, and they had this to say about their opening, tentatively slated for March 14th:  "Let's Go Rams!"

Rob and Ryan also own these other Playa Bowls locations:
Island Heights
Toms River
Lacey
Lavallette

This will mark Playa Bowls 86th location. New Jersey's original Acai shop is now available across 14 States and Puerto Rico, including 2 brand new Manhattan locations, just opened this week!

So there you go! Mark your calendars, and get ready for some Playa Bowls on March 14th.
