New Jersey Might Be One Of The States Trying To Ban Oreos
Could you imagine a world without Oreos?
Not only are they milks favorite cookie, but they're my wife's favorite cookie too, and the idea that they may be banned in New Jersey is crazy.
Before I get too far ahead of myself, let me explain why I'm on this Oreo rant.
Over the weekend I saw a post on Facebook with a graph that mentioned states that were thinking of banning certain snacks like Flammin' Hot Cheetos, Lucky Charms, and yes even our beloved Oreos.
But it's Facebook, you can't believe everything you see and read right?
So I did a little digging.

Why Do Some People Think States Are Going To Ban Oreos?
The ban isn't for specifically Oreos, and it's not just for Lucky Charms or Cheetos but rather some of the contents for these snacks and cereals.
According to The Dispatch, the supposed ban is on things like Yellow Dye's 5 and 6 as well as Blue Dye No. 1 which were linked to different ailments.
The Dispatch goes on to say that the proposed ban for these Dye's is in place in California and there's a ban in the works in Pennsylvania.
The Dispatch claims that Jersey is another state that is thinking about bans on these dyes which may in turn affect our Oreo supply.
The good news is that the original Oreos don't contain any of the above-mentioned dyes, but some of the fun flavors of Oreos like mint do, and they could potentially be banned.
Speaking of bans, here are somethings banned from checked bags in airports in Jersey.
