In addition, the campaign will go beyond Jersey to our neighbors in New York, and Pennsylvania for a one-day, four-hour "Border to Border" ("B2B") event nabbing drivers at state border checkpoints who are not buckled up.

Participating law enforcement agencies will be taking a "no-excuses" approach to seat belt enforcement and will be writing citations throughout the day, especially for night time driving.  Here are the Ocean and Monmouth areas of emphasis:

Ocean

  • Barnegat $6,000
  • Berkeley Township $6,000
  • Brick Township $7,500
  • Jackson $6,000
  • Ocean Township $6,000
  • Seaside Heights $6,000

Monmouth

  • Asbury Park $6,000
  • Freehold Borough $6,000
  • Freehold Township $6,000
  • Manalapan $6,000
  • Marlboro $6,000
  • Middletown $6,000

To enhance law enforcement efforts during the Click It or Ticket campaign, the division is providing a total of $810,120 in grant funding to 134 agencies throughout the state. The money helps agencies pay for additional officers on the road and seat belt checkpoints.  They won't take kindly to you being on your cell phone either. Please drive safe, buckle up and have a wonderful Memorial Day...you deserve it!
