Ocean man charged with cyber harassing, stalking a woman he met at the store

Police in Ocean Township, Monmouth County have arrested a man who was allegedly stalking and harassing a woman on social media that he met at the store.

The victim told police on Monday that she met the man while shopping and they continued communicating on Instagram and SnapChat but then she wanted to stop all together.

He continued to harass her on social media, she said, and even showed up at her place of employment on multiple occasions.

Detectives were able to positively identify the suspect as Kevin Vargas, 25, spoke with him and then placed him under arrest on charged of Cyber Harassment and Stalking.

Vargas was then released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
