A $50,000 Winning Powerball Ticket Was Sold In NJ

Someone in Jersey is waking up today a little wealthier, thanks to the lottery.

Just yesterday my wife and I were going on a walk in Ocean Gate along the boardwalk, and as we walked past the Ocean Gate Deli she turned to me and said 'we should buy a Powerball ticket, it's over 200 Million right now'.

I said no, we don't need to play the lottery no one ever wins.

I now have egg on my face seeing how someone did win some serious cash by playing the lottery this week.

Someone In New Jersey Won 50K Playing The Powerball This Week

The Powerball drawing is every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, and despite the fact that the odds of you winning are 292,201,388 to 1 it's still fun to buy a $2 ticket and daydream of what it would be like to win.

Although no one hit the big jackpot, and no one hit the second place Million dollar combo, someone in Jersey did win 50K by matching 4 winning numbers and the Powerball number in Burlington County, according to NJ.com.

The winning numbers for the drawing were 18, 20, 50, 52, and 56. The Powerball number was 20 with a powerplay of 2x.

50 thousand dollars may not sound as nice as winning the full jackpot, but in this economy, anything is better than nothing.

The ticket was sold at the Township News Centre off Mount Holly Road, and I'm curious to see if this place is now going to see an increase in people buying their lottery tickets there.

The next set of winning numbers for the Powerball is going to be drawn on Wednesday and the jackpot is now up to 295 Million dollars with a cash payout of roughly 139 Million dollars.
