I was surprised to find out that dog groomers don't need a license. My wife is a hair stylist, and the licensing for that is insane. She moved to Florida for a little while before we met, and when she returned to NJ she had to retest for every thing just to get her license back. I figured it wouldn't be quite the same for a pet stylist, but I still assumed they needed some sort of certification.

New Jersey is looking to become the first state to regulate pet groomers.

I'm 100% in support of this. We've heard so many stories about dogs dying while in the care of a groomer, and it's such a shock to find out that groomers are regulated. I've personally never had an issue bringing my dogs, but to be fully honest, it's something my wife and I have become more and more hesitant to do.

Do you still bring your pets to the groomers? Do you agree that groomers should be licensed?
