New Jersey is quickly becoming like a miniature Hollywood, with the number of movies and TV shows that are filming in the Garden State.

And now, a classic horror franchise is looking to film a prequel, and they're looking for local Jersey talent to help out.

Many Movies Are Being Filmed In New Jersey

Steven Spielberg is filming a new movie in the Garden State, and he's looking for extras.

We've also seen Cape May, NJ, become a filming hotspot with scenes from a Complete Unknown, the Bob Dylan biopic being shot there.

And of course, Monmouth County is about to become the new hub for a Netflix studio, which will create thousands of jobs in the film industry, and turn the county into a miniature Hollywood Studios.

Now, one of film's most notorious slasher films is making a comeback, and they're looking for NJ extras to help out.

A Friday The 13th prequel Is Being Filmed In New Jersey

If you didn't know, the Friday the 13th franchise has deep ties to the Garden State.

The first film was shot in Jersey, and you can still visit the iconic Blairstown Diner, which was featured in the film, to this day.

According to NJ.com, it appears as though there's a Friday the 13th prequel getting ready to film in Jersey, and they're looking for NJ extras for the shoot!

The prequel is being filmed for the streaming giant Peacock, and will be set in 1971 and will film in Jersey between June and October of this year.

How To Be An Extra In The Upcoming Friday The 13th Prequel

There are a few qualifications you need to meet.

The production crew is looking for 'young background actors' ages 18 and up with naturally colored hair and no facial piercings or visible tattoos.
