For 1 Day Only, Your Dog Is Allowed On This Popular New Jersey Boardwalk
It doesn't really matter where around the Jersey Shore you visit, 9 times out of 10 your dog isn't allowed to enjoy the fun in the sun with you.
Even where I live in Ocean Gate, we have a strict 'no dogs on the boardwalk' rule.

I understand the reason for the rule; not everyone is a dog person and dogs tend to jump on people.
Also, not everyone is great about cleaning up after their dog, and on a busy boardwalk in the summer, the last thing you want is to step into a pile of you-know-what and walk around with stinky shoes all day.
Even during the Fall and Winter months, dogs aren't allowed on the boardwalk. I remember last year my parents were staying in Seaside Heights for a long weekend and my mom was yelled at by some cops for taking her dog, Max, up onto the boardwalk so she could look at the ocean.
But for one day only, that rule will change in Seaside Heights.
Dog Royalty Days Returns To Seaside Heights For 2025
Dog Royalty Days are the one day a year when your dog is allowed to hang out with you on the Seaside Heights boardwalk.
According to Exit 82, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, your four-legged friend can walk, run, and enjoy the boardwalk along with you on June 1st.
The only big rule is that you clean up after your dog right away, and your dog has to remain on the boardwalk only.
There are, however, a few beaches in Jersey your dog can enjoy alongside you!
