New Year’s Eve NJ: 7 fun places for families to ring in 2017

There's still time New Jersey- need a cool way to spend New Year's Eve with the family? Look no further than these 7 spots below. A few of them wrap up earlier for the younger revelers. There's also fireworks galore, to help NJ end 2016 with some sparkle.

1. iPlay America (Monmouth County) is a year-round place for all-ages fun in Freehold- with a special bash to greet 2017.  Each Party Pass includes some unlimited rides, attractions, a game card to start, party favors, live DJ and countdown to midnight. Admission is free for toddlers, (two and under). Dining options are available for an additional cost.

2. It's a big year for Morris County's First Night festivities. For the 25th anniversary of New Jersey’s biggest First Night celebration, there's a packed schedule for a family-friendly, alcohol-free arts celebration– nearly 200 artists, with more than 80 events.

The MAYO Performing Arts Center serves as the hub of First Night Morris 2017, which includes two fireworks displays. Every venue is indoors, and a free shuttle runs to all locations- though it's all within walking distance from the Morristown Green. The offerings representing dance, theatre, music, world cultures, visual arts and children’s events.

3. Great Adventure (Ocean County) is offering their seasonal festivities for those who'd like to cap off their New Year's at a reasonable hour. "Holiday in the Park" runs from 1-9 p.m. on New Year's Eve- what better way to end the year than with a few roller coaster rides?

Grab your last glimpse of this year's holiday lights, with over a million twinkling bulbs parkwide, toast a s'more (or four) by the fire pits and catch some fireworks before heading home.

4. Sahara Sam's (Burlington County) indoor water park is offering a 'Midnight at the Oasis' for families this New Year's. Revelers can splash the night away on the water attractions, enjoy a 'foam party', music by DJ, play games and giveaways. Each ticket also includes a midnight toast- champagne for adults and sparkling cider for the kids.(Children 2 and under are free.)

5. Bowlero in North Brunswick (Middlesex County) is the newest bowling alley in New Jersey to offer a New Year's celebration 'on the lanes.' There's a night-time 'ball drop package' that includes 4-hours of unlimited bowling (shoes included), a gourmet buffet, soft drinks, and a midnight toast of champagne or sparkling cider (depending on age).

There's similar packages available for other NJ bowling facilities run by Bowlmor AMF- in Green Brook, Aberdeen and Hazlet.

6. Sky Zone South Plainfield (Middlesex County) is offering a family-friendly 'jump start' on festivities. The trampoline park's 'New Year's Eve GLOW Bash' runs for three hours, 6-9pm. It's a modified version of their popular GLOW sessions, with DJ music, laser lights and black lighting.

7. Ocean City First Night (Cape May County) has a full schedule of family fun. There's ice skating, the skateboard park and indoor swimming for early activities, plus magic shows, inflatables, and lots of live music and other entertainers. The evening wraps with a fireworks show at midnight. Admission 'button sales' also support local charities.
