2 New Jersey Towns Made This National List Of Best Solo Travel Destinations
One of my favorite things to do is go on trips with friends, and family.
At least once a year my friends and I try to plan a boy's weekend where we can all get together, drink beers, catch up, and just enjoy each other's company.
Of course, going on vacation with the wife and family is always a blast too!
However, sometimes, people just need to get away and travel by themselves.
Whether it's to find themselves, or because they like exploring on their own, traveling solo can be a fun and unique experience.
But if you are going to hit the open road on your own, where are you going to go?
Years ago, when I was trying to land my first job in radio I would take solo weekend trips all over the place to try and get an interview with a station.
I spent solo weekends in Boston, Connecticut, and at one point was looking at Arkansas.
And although some of those trips would have been better with a friend, the experience of tackling those adventures solo was very rewarding.
Recently, Good Housekeeping put together a list of the best solo travel destinations in the country, and two towns from Jersey made the list!
I was excited to see two Jersey towns named as some of the best solo travel destinations because there really is so much to experience here that you can't get it all in one place.
According to Good Housekeeping, the first destination solo travelers have to go to is Cape May New Jersey.
With its beautiful Victorian houses, great beach, and quaint small-town feel it's a great place to check out solo, but remember another Jersey town made the list too.
It's a town that's known for its gorgeous college campus, and great museums, and was also the setting for one of my favorite TV shows ever, House M.D.
According to Good Housekeeping Princeton, New Jersey is the other town you must visit for a solo vacation in the Garden State.
By the way, if you're looking for even more cool places around Jersey to visit, check out all of our amazing small towns.
