In my opinion, there's no better time of year than Summer.

Long weekends at the beach, bonfires on cool nights, and going for long runs down the boardwalk are just a few of the great things about the season.

Food is also a great part of the Summer.

Backyard barbeques, fair food from the Ocean and Monmouth County Fairs, smoked pork, mac, and cheese, it's all delicious.

Of course, if you're having a good old-fashioned summer cook-out you'll also need some dessert to go with that.

What's a good dessert to bring to a summertime cookout?

I always like bringing brownies, but a watermelon is a great option, and so are cupcakes just to name a few.

Costco is releasing a new item in their bakery though, that is so much better than anything I just listed.

Costco is Rolling Out a New Bakery Item That's Perfect for the Summer

Going to Costco is like going to Disney World but for food shopping.

I think their bakery is great too; their muffins, chocolate chip cookies, and cakes are really good.

Costco is getting ready to release a new dessert though that puts all others to shame.

It's a dessert that I always forget about until I see it on a picnic table and just chow down.

On top of that, it's one of the few desserts both my fiancée and I can agree on.

I'm usually a chocolate/peanut butter dessert kind of guy and she just likes vanilla ice cream.

But if we're out and see this at a get-together or at a restaurant we have to try it.

Costco is Releasing Mini Lemon Cakes

According to the food experts at Eat This, Not That Costco is releasing its own line of Lemon Cakes.

Lemon Cakes are a perfect summertime dessert.

They're light, fluffy, and full of flavor!

The ones Costco is releasing are mini too, which means you don't have to feel too guilty if you overindulge.

No word on the exact release date for these tasty summertime treats, but once they come to the Ocean County Costco, I may have to consider getting a membership.
