Monmouth U & Rutgers U Unveil New Football Uniforms

The Hawks of Monmouth University and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will both have new uniforms for this football season.

Monmouth took to Instagram to show off five new unis, including a brand-new gray-on-gray look.

During their annual Fan Appreciation Day, Rutgers showed off their new gear including a special "Dark Knight" combo, complete with a new logo on the helmet.

I'm never really a fan of teams using colors that aren't in their main palette. When I went to Monmouth, our colors were blue and white. Around my junior or senior year (I think) they shifted to more of a midnight blue and white. Grey doesn't fit in there, and I'm not the biggest fan.

My grandfather went to Rutgers so I grew up watching them a bit, and I think the bright red and white are a great color scheme. I know the all-black look is trendy, and I guess I don't really have a problem with it other than the fact that everyone else is doing it. I do think the new logo on the helmet is cooler than the traditional block R, though.
