Erick Uzcategui, 34, of Manchester, has been sentenced to eight years in New Jersey State Prison, of which by law he must serve 85% of the term before becoming eligible for parole. The sentencing is the result of the vehicular homicide jury trial before Judge James M. Blaney, JSC.

This Thanksgiving will be 4 years since Marles was on his way home from working an overtime shift on Thanksgiving Eve, when his personal Jeep Grand Cherokee was struck by Uzcategui's BMW. The impact caused Marles' Jeep to spin around, strike a guard rail, leave the roadway, overturn and burst into flames.

Uzcategui has not served any time yet and has been out on $250,000 bail since 2010
