A Lakewood man who coughed on a Liquor Store employee and said he had coronavirus because the clerk wouldn't sell him a pack of cigarettes will appear in court next month after being given a criminal complaint for disorderly conduct.

Lakewood Police said they responded to the Pine Cone Liquor Store located at 248 Second Street around 12:15 pm Wednesday after receiving a report that an unidentified male was coughing and stated that he had the Corona virus and then left the area on foot.

While in route, an Officer located the man identified as, 25-year old Juan Gomez Sanchez of Lakewood, walking down Clifton Avenue.
After initially offering medical attention to him, further investigation revealed that Sanchez was not ill and was only acting that way because an employee refused to sell him cigarettes.
Juan Gomez Sanchez was issued a criminal complaint for a disorderly conduct.
He is expected to be in court next month.
