Last week, during a book signing in New York, homegrown director Kevin Smith revealed that his beloved characters from the "Clerks" franchise might be heading to Broadway.

The 1994 release of Clerks brought fame and fortune to Red Bank's Kevin Smith. An animated series came out in 2000, and we finally got Clerks II in 2006.

It's still only in early stages, but Smith told EW that he's already talked with several members of the cast, including the hard-to-wrangle Jeff Anderson, who played the iconic slacker Randal.

There aren't many things that would get me to attend a Broadway show, but the opportunity to see a show written by Kevin Smith, with the original cast of characters I already love would be too much to pass up.
