Jackson’s Zachary Nelson is our Warrior of the Week

Townsquare Media and the Jay & Linda Grunin Foundation are teaming up to salute our local heroes with our Warrior of the Week program.

Congratulations to Zachary Nelson, our Warrior of the Week for the week of June 10th, 2019.

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Zachary J. Nelson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Nelson is the son of Julia and Rickey Nelson of Jackson, New Jersey. He is the brother of Rickey Nelson of Jackson.

The airman is a 2014 graduate of Jackson Memorial High School, Jackson. He earned an associate degree in 2018 from Ocean County College.
