Federal Funds To Help South Jersey Business Owners and Job Seekers

Despite New Jersey job growth hitting 70,000 in 2023, the state's unemployment rate continues to rise as many people are still adjusting to the post-COVID Pandemic world we live in. South Jersey is an area with many seasonal jobs and businesses that would like more reliable work and income for their livelihoods.

The good news is that new federal funding is coming to help with job growth in South Jersey.  US Congressman Jeff Van Drew announced that over $2 Million of federal funding has been obtained to help small businesses and job seekers in South Jersey.

Here are the three programs that will receive Federal Funding:

Atlantic Cape Community College will be receiving $1 Million in federal funding for the "BizHub" program. This initiative helps new and existing businesses in Cape May County get the resources and assistance they need for different business opportunities.

The Jewish Family Services' "Boosting to Work" Initiative will be awarded $550,000 to help South Jersey residents connect with employment opportunities. This program provides job training and helps people overcome the barriers that prevent South Jersey residents from increasing their household income.

Atlantic City EnVision Center will be receiving $1 Million to support its Electrical Installation and Cybersecurity Training Program. This will employ and train South Jersey residents who will work as part of the Public Safety Cameras Initiative with the Atlantic City Police Department.
