Popcorn Park Zoo Mourns The Loss Of Legolas’, A Beloved Baboon

We all love the wonderful Popcorn Park Zoo.

The Popcorn Rescue Zoo is an amazing place home to wildlife, farm animals, birds, and other animals who suffered cruelty, injury, illness, handicap, old age, and animals and birds that could not be safely returned to the wild.

I've been to the Popcorn Park Zoo many, many times. I love visiting the zoo, from feeding the peacocks, and seeing the wonderful animals and the awesome people that work at the zoo. It's the perfect place in the Pine Barrens of Ocean County and is now home to over 200 animals and birds.

Our friends at the Popcorn Park just announced some sad news. From the Popcorn Park Animal Refuge Facebook page:

It is with deep sorrow that we inform you all of Legolas' passing. While he had recently showed signs of aging, Legolas embraced life to the fullest until his final day. In the past few months, he took particular delight in new enriching activities, with a special fondness for extra treats like pumpkins and playful interactions with his new mirrored sensory toy.

Legolas passed peacefully, with his brother Gandalf by his side to say goodbye. Gandalf is understandably saddened by his passing, but we are providing him with extra care and attention during this difficult time. Though Legolas is dearly missed, we find solace in the knowledge that he led a remarkably fulfilling and joyful life. Rest in peace Legolas.
