Helping Asbury Park Stay Warm This Winter

It’s the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission Annual Coat Giveaway.

The cold is definitely here. Some mornings have been in the 30’s in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. You may have even seen frost on your windshield and on your lawn. As the temperature continues to decline, you can help members of the Asbury Park community bundle up and stay toasty during these colder months at the Jersey Shore.

If you have gently used coats and winter accessories, including gloves, hats, and scarves you can drop them off at the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission, located at 701 Memorial Drive in Asbury Park from 9:30am to 4:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Clean out your closets and donate what you can. They are looking for women, men and children’s sizes.

If you or anyone you know is in need, the annual Coat Giveaway takes place on Saturday, November 18th from 10am to 1pm at the mission at 701 Memorial Drive, Asbury Park.

Mission Events and Volunteer Manager Debbie McKenna told The Coaster, “Our annual Coat Giveaway is a time for community members, churches, corporations, and individuals to get together and collect new and gently used coats and winter accessories for the community. Volunteers are eager to assist guests in finding just the right fit and color coat they are looking for. Our wonderful volunteers come just to make sure that each guest we serve feels cared for.”
